Broxbourne Head Coach

TuesdayMorning-506.jpg

Ian Biggadike

Ian has  been running GK Icon Academies Broxbourne for 10 years now and has created a vibrant centre that continues to go from strength to strength.

As well as running the Broxbourne Academy, Ian is also Lead Goalkeeper Coach at Arsenal Women Academy. He is responsible for the overall goalkeeper pool at the club, with a focus on training the U21 and U16 keepers.

Over 40 goalkeepers now attend the Monday night Broxbourne sessions over three hours. Every one of them has made amazing progress, picking up Player of the Year Awards and many finding their way to professional clubs.

Indeed many of Ian's goalkeepers have joined Luton Town, Stevenage, Watford and Tottenham Hotspur. We also had a goalkeeper who joined Gk Icon Broxbourne at 12 years old, who went on to join Huddersfield Town's U19 squad and train with the first team keepers at the then Premier League club.

Ian believes that practicing the technical aspects of goalkeeping is really important, but is also a great believer in giving his goalkeepers confidence in their ability. His  aim is to inspire his goalkeepers to be the best that they can be, whether that ends up being at pro level or in the grassroots game.
